Project Case Study
A real estate site for a Costa del Sol agency, where a live listings feed and an editorial presentation have to feel like one product.
Ambreys is a Costa del Sol real estate agency with 15+ years in the market. It helps people buy, sell and rent across Marbella, the Golden Mile, BenahavĂs, Estepona, Fuengirola, Mijas Costa and La Duquesa. The site leads with "Iconic homes on the Costa del Sol." The agency also makes a service promise that sets it apart: it has no volume targets, and one advisor stays with each client from first enquiry to the notary.
In this market, the website is often a buyer's first impression of the agency. A cramped, template-looking site makes buyers wonder how carefully their transaction will be handled. The presentation has to carry real weight.
The site also has a practical job. It has to work as a search tool, with filterable inventory, a shortlist and enquiry routing, and search tools tend to look like spreadsheets. The editorial pages and the search pages need to feel like the same product.
Inventory changes all the time and comes from an external feed, so nobody can maintain property data by hand. The site has to fetch it and still look composed when the feed is slow or empty.
The audience is split, too. Overseas buyers in particular have many questions about how buying in Spain works, such as getting an NIE (Spanish tax ID), opening a bank account, legal costs, and the difference between off-plan and resale.
The design lets imagery lead and keeps the interface chrome quiet, so the site reads as a portfolio first and a database second.
Listings come from the Resales-Online feed at runtime, so the latest properties, new developments and area counts are always current without manual updates. Each property page sits at a stable ID-based URL, and location filters live in the query string, so any search can be shared as a link.
Inventory is organised the way buyers actually search: by area, by intent (resale or new build), and by whether they are browsing or shortlisting. The Shortlist exists because nobody buys on a first visit, so the site makes returning easy.
For buyers who would rather not search, a matching flow lets them send their area, budget and timeline. An advisor then replies with suitable properties, including off-market stock. A detailed FAQ answers the questions overseas buyers ask most.
Built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel. The first layout was generated with v0 and then reworked by hand. Listing data comes from the Resales-Online feed via Axios and is rendered through Next.js image optimisation. Because the inventory is external, empty and loading states got the same design attention as the full grid.
The site gives a 15-year local practice a presentation that matches its properties. Underneath, it works as a live search tool that stays current without manual upkeep.
